Guyana is one of the fastest-growing economies in the world. The oil boom has created thousands of new jobs, new businesses are opening every week, and communities across all 10 regions are experiencing real economic growth for the first time in a generation.
But opportunity doesn't find people automatically. People have to find opportunity. And too many Guyanese — especially those outside Georgetown — don't have access to the right information, the right connections, or the right platform to make that happen.
That's exactly why we built Job Placements Guyana. A platform for every Guyanese, in every region, at every stage of their career — built right here at home, with Guyana's people at the centre of everything we do.
Why We Built This
When Guyana's oil reserves were confirmed and ExxonMobil began operations, something shifted in this country. Suddenly, Guyana was on the world's radar. Foreign companies arrived. Infrastructure projects began. New industries emerged almost overnight.
But while the economy was booming at the top, many everyday Guyanese were being left behind. Job vacancies existed — but people couldn't find them. Skilled workers existed — but employers couldn't reach them. Service providers were operating — but customers didn't know they existed.
"The problem wasn't a lack of opportunity. The problem was that nobody had built the bridge between the people who needed work and the people who needed help."
So we built that bridge. Job Placements Guyana launched with a simple mission: make it as easy as possible for Guyanese people to find work, hire talent, and access services — regardless of where they live, what industry they're in, or what stage of their career they're at.
We started with jobs. Then we added ServeGY — our local services marketplace covering everything from home cleaning and private chefs to oil field catering and homecare agencies. And we're just getting started.
Every feature we build, every category we add, every provider we verify — it's all in service of one goal: making Guyana's economy work better for every single Guyanese.
